   maybe you could make a heat exchanger based on oil. a little black container in the focal point with tubes running down to a cooker plate. either an electric pump or one based on a small stirling motor to circulate the oil. the dish could be tracking. that way it’s easier to cook

   I might be wrong, but I don’t believe that the direct tv dishes are parabolic. They’re designed to receive at an angle, and reflect to a spot at another angle. Using it straight on will probably give you a spread out heating spot.

   I have watched many of your films and you guys do a great job at explaining things to us all. You make us think a bit and that is good .
   My biggest question is WHAT reflective film product out there is the most effective or is it reflective ,is U.V. stable and will last for perhaps decades WITHOUT peeling and coming off the surfaces in which it is applied?
   There are lots of products out there and most of the ones that I have seen do not last long.
   I want to line 8 C-Band dishes with the stuff.
