You should make more videos like this. Since you launched your webbook you stopped uploading videos.

@Verbloten Remember, the shutter speed is irrelevant. It could be a whole 10 seconds if you are in a dark room. I was using 1/160th just to make sure the ambient lighting in the room wouldn’t show up. The flashes freeze the motion, not the shutter speed – shutter speed has nothing to do with it in this circumstance.

I’m surprised that this wouldn’t cause blur considering shutter speed is so slow.. I’m a newb obviously but I would have thought that a shutter speed of 600+ would be needed for such a shot. I also know that with a flash you can’t go above 200 – so interesting you can achieve such an “action” shot with 160th….

@amargnwalkr Peppers might be a fruit since they have seeds and I believe that’s a strong sign that something is a fruit! :) But agreed you wouldn’t put peppers in your fruit salad!

Goood! It’s nice of your part to show us all the gear and method! Not all of the pros do that. I have a D90, Benro Tripod and 35 & 50mm F1.8. But I don’t have any flash besides the camera itself. What should I do? I’ve tried before under the sunlight with a coin and the results were good. Also, is the 70-200mm F2.8 a good choice since it can focus as close as 1.4m and there´s a lot of zoom to play with close-ups and little details? Please answer if the question is good. Tks from Brazil

@amargnwalkr Really, who gives a shit. The tutorial is decent. If nitpicking is all you can do, lets see your videos on how to do this better. All you can do is spread smut on youtube.

  23. fwafaa says:

Thanks a lot I’m gonna try it today although I don’t have those flashes but will try to work it out with something else

  24. PhotoExtremist says:

@amargnwalkr neither was a hand, last time i checked!

  25. amargnwalkr says:

nice results, but you gotta work on your terminology dude. It’s definitely a hot shoe. And peppers are not fruit. Etc.
